Life - the one with the secret project

Reading: Eleanor & Park

Diptyque Mimosa

Crafty Whale Project

It's been a staying inside kinda week. The weather is just starting to cool here finally. It's hot but there's a magical cool breeze keeping the humidity at bay. It's getting easier to imagine enjoying being outside again soon. For now I'm making the most of my indoor time with huge mugs of tea and a pile of books. Right now I'm devouring Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell. I don't often read young adult fiction but I picked this up after seeing more than one rave review. Suffice to say, I'm loving it and trying to resist the urge to rush out and pick up more by Rowell before it's done.

In other news, a lovely friend gave me a Diptyque candle as a thank you gift and I couldn't be more pleased. Apart from the wonderful smell, the packaging is just beautiful. Scented candles have been an obsession of mine since we became dog parents. I don't really know if there's a doggy smell to disguise but if there is, this is such a nice way to go about it. I love the smell, I love the glow and I love the flickering shadows they cast. Happy days.

And finally, there's been a little project keeping me occupied for the last month. The whale softie is the first in a series of make-your-own softie kits that I'll be selling at Ripe Market in a couple of weeks. Stay tuned for more sneak peaks.
